Offering a Christian perspective on the issues facing parents
of upper primary and secondary aged children.
Parenting children aged between 10-15 years old has its own special challenges.
Some issues facing parents today are: Limits; Peer Pressure; Drugs; Absentee Parenting; Youth Depression; Discipline; Dating; How & When Teenagers Socialise; Unrealistic Parental Academic Expectations; Impact of TV/Computers, etc; Self esteem and personal development.
For this reason, St James Anglican Church has organised a parenting seminar. We have assembled a panel with considerable experience and insight into parenting children of these ages.
The panel members bring both their professional and personal experience. The panel members are all committed Christians, parents and educators.
The approach taken by the panel will be unashamedly Christian.
That is not to say that it is only for Christians. We believe that God has made this world to work in particular ways, and families function best when they follow His pattern.
